Key word search in the List of Commanding Officers

In July 1999, the Fleet Air Archive began to gather details about the Commannding Officers of the front line Fleet Air Arm squadrons 1939-1945. In August, 2000 the outline of the CO biographies had been completed as best as could be with available resources. The task was long and difficult not to mention extremely time consuming. The roster, as it is currently, contains all of the Fleet Air Arm 800-1800 squadron COs and Naval Air Wing and Carrier Air Group COs, however it has not attempted at this stage to elaborate in further detail to naval careers of the COs. In the near future the FAA Archive would like to complete the list by adding the other Commonwealth naval aviator names from the 700 second-line sqdns and to further elaborate and link information on the names already outlined. If you know of a way for us to obtain those names please contact the FAA Archive email. Meanwhile we will be undertaking further research and consultation with veteran and veteran associations to ensure that this list will become as complete as possible.
